We have a kenmore quietguard 3 dishwasher that has recently been leaving white film or residue on the dishes which does not come off. We know it is not the detergent we are using because we've switched more than once and the same thing keeps happing. Any suggestions?

Make sure you are not using too much detergent? And also make sure the filter screen in the bottom is clear. I have seen pump bodies clogged with granular detergent and the rinse water couldn't clear it out. Use minimal detergent. Try running a couple cycles without detergent to see if that is your issue.

Your pump probably needs cleaned. You can try putting an 8 oz glass of white vinegar on the top rack, upright of course, and running through a cycle. Also make sure your water temp is at 130 degrees or more.

The green light is flashing. Manual refers to the heater circuit. Do I need a technician and what am I looking at in terms of repair bill.

Tried adding white vinegar but the machine won't even start. Is there a reset switch in the machine, or could the pump be jammed?

I did the reset code for my dishwasher and it seems to act like its going to run through the cycle but will not any ideas?
