Can I sue this girl who is claiming that her baby is mine? She has had an issue of child support issued against me. I am requesting A paternity test because I havenot had contact with this girl for 8 months before she got pregnant. I have not had any contact with her. I heard through my work that she was claiming I was the father. She never said a word to me. The only communication I got from her was whenI received the notice in the mail that she was suing me for child support. I am a police officer as well as her. This is going to cause me prblems at work and with the wife and children. What options do I have after the paternity test shows I am not the father. I feel she is doing thi9s out of malice because she never wanted me to break it off from her. When I initially broke it off from her, she continually called and text me endlessly. She tried to intimidate my wife when we were at police functions. Do I have any recourse?? She is messing with my life, my job, and my family. I made a mistake having an affair but it has been over since Oct. 2009! She had this baby in April 2011!

Well if you never had sex with her after Oct 2009, then the paternity test will come back negative.

The only possible grounds for a suit would be for harassment. You need to get a restraining order against her. I would consult an attorney if I were you.

This child can't possibly be yours, if as you say, you finished with her 8 months before she was pregnant,so why is she making these allegations,when it will be perfectly clear to all after the paternity test is done!

Yes I go along with ScottGem, regarding harassment suit.I am surprised that she is continuing down this path,especially the fact that you are both police officers,so she will know the score.

All credit to your wife, there are few that would tolerate such behaviour from their husband or the woman he had an affair with.


Maybe her angle is that if she torments your wife enough perhaps your wife may leave you,which in her eyes may open the door again for her,it seems like a case of... if I can't have you, then no one else will...

I would go have this test done just to bring closure to her allegations,that may shut her up, if harassment still continues,then go see a lawyer who will advise you further.

I don't think you are going to win that one. Although you say you didn't have sex with her after October of '09, she probably will testify that you did. The fact that the paternity test will come back negative won't prove that you didn't have sex with her after that date, only that you didn't make her pregnant.

I'll be very harsh here - you lied to your wife (and children) for a period while you were having an affair with this woman. I'm sure you claimed there was no affair.

Now you claim you didn't have sex with her within the time she got pregnant.

I would wait for the DNA testing and then see what the truth is.

And, as "AK" put it, cutting to the chase, DNA doesn't prove you weren't having sex with her during that time frame. DNA shows you aren't the father of the child.

And if she's harassing your wife, then your WIFE should take action against her. You - I think you deserve whatever calls/texts she's making to you. I'm amazed the Police Department is putting up with this entire scenario. In MY local PD once something like this becomes common knowledge you are BOTH off duty until the DNA comes back.

There's always her commanding Officer to talk to - of course, that doesn't look terribly good for you.

And if you don't want her texting/calling you, change your number.

She's messing with your life? Maybe it's karma.
