There was a movie I remember seeing on cable in the 80s about a boy growing up in the frontier alone and meets an indian girl, they fall in love and portrayed a pretty realistic show of frontier life. There wasn't a whole lot of dialogue in it. I thought it had the word Wilderness in the title but I could be wrong.
