My Inglis electric dryer makes a high pitched squeaking/rubbing noise, but only periodically, not constant. Is it a belt or a rear drum bearing? How much $$ to fix it?

It's the belt. My dyer squeeked and then abrubtly stopped squeeking. It did this for a few months and then just stopped..
If you can't bear the noise and can do it yourself change or tighten the belt. To pay for a service person to do this may cost a service call fee and a fee for new belt.
Just pull drum and put some white lithium grease on rear bearing and on rollers that support drum. While you are at it clean it out and replace belt. (See: https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/go/explore.php?do=showthread&sort=newest&t=585065 ) DrTom4444
