Our rainwater tank with a pump, feeds into the toilets and washing machine. My understanding is that when the tanks run dry, it automatically switches over to town water. Does this mean the pump will switch itself off and town water will then feed into washing machine or does it mean that the town water will fill the tank and the pump keep working? I ended up with black water in the washing machine.
