I'm trying to find the name of a movie. The story was about a young man whose girlfriend dies on a date and he panics and abandons her. When his parent find out they convince him to turn himself in an d are shocked when he is sent to prison.

Thanks. I was talking to a friend about the justice system and how whacky some of the courts were when it came to sentencing, and I wanted to use this movie as an example of what can happen. I have ordered it from Netflix and I'm hoping that it will illustrate my point. I always tell people to not turn their kids in to the cops. When the system takes over a lot of parents are real surprised at what happens. Suddenly the lesson that they wanted to teach becomes a lot more of a lesson than they intended. Parenting is a job for parents. Giving the job to the state is a variety of abandonment. Don't do it.
