Is it easier to immigrate to the USA via Canada?
    Hi,

I live in Belgium and would like to immigrate to the US. I had a J1 visa in 2007-2008 but did not find a solution to extend. I heard that it is easier to immigrate to Canada than to the USA, and then to immigrate from Canada to the US. Is it true? What do you think? How many years will it take? Any suggestion?

    Thank you so much,

It is easier to immigrate to Canada as they have more reasonable ways to qualify for immigration.

It it not significantly easier to immigrate to the US from Canadian rather than Belgium. The basis for your permanent residence (green card) is your educational background, work history, finances and qualifying relatives; none of which is related to your country of citizenship.
