I have been with my current boyfriend for almost six months and Im really happy. Things have been going really well. His friends have said that they have never seen him before like this with a girl, that we are so good together and that they have never seen him this happy with anyone.

My ex was quite a piece of work, but I am over it now and not afraid anymore. I trust my new guy and it's a wonderful feeling! We are talking about him coming home to my country in August, something he brought up!

My new guy went on holiday with some of his mates on Saturday, and he texted me when he arrived. Since then we haven't talked or texted, so I have a question.

How much is 'normal' to text/talk when the guy is away? I kind of want him to take the lead as I don't want to nag either, but I'm very curious on how its going!

How much do you guys talk to your bfs etc when away on holiday?

There is no "average guy" there is your guy, if you start to compare what he does to others, it is a bad start.

Communication is not always in the amount of calls, but what is said and how feelings are expressed when the calls are made.

I would say if a person has a girlfriend and they are in a serious relationship, he would call her or leave a message at least once a day. One does not just forget a person you really care for.

But then you are also playing that silly game, well I won't text or call because he is not.

I would say that there are a lot of communication issues before he left, if games like this are still being played

I understand which games you are referring to, but that's not what I tried to express. Normally we text each other when we want,usually everyday, I'm not a big phone person. And there is no I texted the last time so now he must text me game.

I do realize that people are different... I have strong feelings for this guy, but for me it's not about how many times we talk while away, but what we say. So when I'm away and if I don't text him everyday doesn't mean that I have forgotten about him, or lost my feelings for him..

Most couples put there heads together and work out a plan that works for them both. The easiest and simplest idea generally works best, with some common sense considerations for changes, or emergencies
