I am disabled and receive ssi . I am also pregnant and the father whom works and receives ssi also is not planning on being supportive to his child when she is born . Can I still receive my ssi and collect childsupport from my child's father without decreasing my ssi ? And also is it true that my child will be able to receive a ssi check because both her parents do ?

SSI or SDI? Is this disability you and he are on? If so you can sign your child up to reveive their own monthly check. It will be from either your check OR his check, not both and get 2 checks.

If you receive SSI your child won't be able to collect and you will have to ding the father for child support payments.

Your SSI payments may be stopped or diminished due to the extra income. Ask them at SSI before you go do something that would hurt you financially.

As an aside, it's amazing this question is even on here. Goes to show that America is now perculating more mouths to feed off taxpayers money.

The father works AND receives SSI? What he's planning matters little. After the child is born you need to go to Court, prove paternity and file for a child support Order.

SSI looks at all of your income. That includes child support.

The person to talk to is your SSI "worker."

Interesting that two disabled people are having a child on the taxpayer's money.
