How much does a 100 gallon propane tank weigh when its empty?

They hold about 24 gallons of propane and weight about 68 lbs empty, 170 lbs when filled.

Gee thanks for the reddie, why did you just not catch my misread and says gallons instead of lbs. Makes me really want to go out of my way now and get you the correct info.

Wish I could balance ball, but I've got to spread it around.. It should say on the tank what the dry weight is.

Thanks MGD, I know you got my back when you can. Jetty has asked about 5 questions in 3 years and I have offered help before. I appears he has never given anyone a greenie so I won't be holding my breathe, or providing further help to him.

We can say the reddies don't bother us, but we both, (all) know we would be kidding ourselves. Fact is, it hurts when you try to help someone, and they slam you just because you misread the question, or maybe just gave an answer that they didn't like. Obviously, I don't know what a reddie or a grennie is. I ask a question about weight of a 100 gallon, empty propane tank and was given an answer for a 100# tank. All I did was let him know that was not what I was looking for. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Apparently you do know what a greenie is, you just gave one to MGD and he wasn't even offering advice. I was a bit irritated by you rating me down, it was very obvious by my answer, considering the details I gave, I had misread your question. I provided accurate info for a 100 lbs instead of 100 gal. We spend a great deal of volunteer time here trying to help folks. Our reputation rating mean something to us since it shows how much we have been able to help others. Had you said, Hey dude, you misread the question" rather than rating me you would have been able to get the help you wanted.
