Is my skin color... Getting ligher?.
When I was born as a baby and till about 4 years old I was very light skinned. My mother is dark skinned and my father is a light skinned black person. As I got older I started going out for 3-5 hours a day playing with friends in the sun, and this continued for 7 years. I then realized that I have become very dark. I am now 16 years old and have noticed my chest area becoming much lighter than the rest of my body, now today I looked at myself again and noticed that partsof my legs and arms are beginning to become much lighter than the rest of my body as well. Is it because I am returning to my color as a child?. or something other wise (I hope not). I looked closer on my chest and It seems some parts are still dark and some parts lighter (going in a ripple pattern)but most of It Is light skinned... though this Is hardly visible...

    P.S

I have developed a habit of staying inside playing video games for the past 4 years (since high school started)I rarely go outside since I now live quite a distance from my friends.

But here's what I really want to know

Why is the rest of my body not getting lighter as well?

And if my skin color really was changed by the sun, why did it effect most of my body?...it not like I go out naked...

That's why I'm asking (to make sure nothing is wrong with me)

misscutie24018, that is a very uniformed answer. You've been doing a lot of unhelpful replies, such as sending people to a shopping site for Sanskrit translations. THIS site is for answers.

Frostbite, it is common for children of parents with different skin tones to start lighter as an infant, and also to darken quickly in the sun. Then by spending more time indoors you lighten, and the ripples might be from areas where your skin is looser, causing more pigment to be bunched in those areas and appear darker. I highly doubt that you need to worry about cancer! If you want, post a picture of a small area of you.
