I am a 25 yr old guy. In the past I've dated many girls whose heart I've broken, but who's also broken my heart too. Well its been a year since I've met this girl. She's an extended family member, not by blood though, sort of like... my dads sister husband brother daughter. Complicated I know lolz. Anyway... I am having strong feelings for her, and I feel like its time to settle down too... but the problem is... she hasn't been able to get over her ex. They broke up because they had to move to separate countries. I try not to show my true feelings for her because I feel that she still has her ex in her heart. Sigh... what should I do? Try to forget everything and move on, or continue to wait? Thanks guys..

How does she feel about you? If she has expressed feelings for you, she first needs to heal (get over her ex) before you will ever have a real chance with her. There is nothing that you can do to speed up the process, and she must go at it alone. Let her heal. In the process, you might find someone else that you connect with whose heart doesn't already belong to someone else. Good luck to you!

How long ago did they break up and how do you know she still has feelings for her ex? Did she tell you or did someone else? If you heard it from someone else, then it may or may not be accurate.

How well do you know her? Would it be an idea to just invite her out with a group friends? No pressure to do anything other than have fun and get to know each other better.

You don't have to announce your undying love to see if she would be open to going out on a 'get to know each other' date. Trying to put strong emotions into the relationship before there is one is sort of like putting the cart before the horse.

Try talking to her and getting to know her. If that seems like something you aren't ready for or can handle, then move on and see what else is out there.

Hey guys. Thanks for the reply. Well its only been 2 months since we've actually started going out to chill. But every time I call her out she brings her bro along too. Not that I have a problem with it.. prolly she doesn't know me that well yet and seeing that she and her family moved to a foreign country... they won't have friends here so its understandable the 2 siblings come out together. She has never mentioned anything about her ex to me... everything I know about them I was told my family members. I am pretty sure she knows I'm insterested though... like today... 6 of us went to see transformers... the cinema was packed... there were 4 seats together... and 2 seats together in another row... my bro and the 3 others took the 4 seats just to PURPOSELY place us 2 together. I don't want to jump the gun so I just talk to her and treat her like a normal friend even though deep in my heart I am having strong feelings for her. My bro and everyone else says she most likely knows I'm interested. I bought her a sim card yesterday because I know she doesn't have one. But I've noticed she still has her couple ring with her ex on her marriage finger, and has his pics up on Facebook too... so definitely she isn't over it yet. Should I give it sometime and continue going out as a group? Or should I ask her to come out and chill alone soon?
