Why is HCl added to the soultion of Al+CuCl
Is that in salt analysis?
If so, the HCl should be concentrated. Did you notice anything during the test?

No it was not in a salt analysis it was in a limiting reagen experiment, after adding the HClthere was bubling and the aluminum was replaced by the copper in the solution

Like, what type or reaction is it?
What happens when HCl is added? What reacts with HCl?
What do you know about aluminium?
If you can answer those questions, I'm sure you'll understand better why HCl is added. If you can't, don't worry and post back.
