Should A/C compressor start at same time as inside blower?
We had a new Rheem two stage air conditioning/heating unit installed a couple of weeks ago. This week a day got hot enough for us to use the AC for the first time. We noticed that when the inside blower starts there is a few minute delay before the outside compressor starts. When the set temperature is reached both blower and compressor stop at the same time. The unit is cooling the house as expected. The old unit that this one replaced worked the opposite with blower and compressor starting at the same time and the compressor stopping a few minutes before the blower allowing the cold air to be cycled out of the ducts. I called the company we purchased from (ARS) and their AC tech says the new unit is working as designed, opposite to what the old one did. Seems a bit odd. Are they correct?
