My Dryer label says 3 wire 110/220 . Can I plug it in to a 220 Outlet?

I am moving into a rental with a dedicated 220 outlet for a dryer. My dryers tag reads:
3 wire 120/240 volts 60hz 28 amps.. Can I plug in safeley? Please help...

An electric dryer is a 120/240v circuit and appliance. There is no such thing as "220" any more.

You have to match the dryer cord on the dryer to the receptacle. DO NOT change the receptacle in a place that you are renting.

Hi Ballengerb1, It is a different color (metal color and black) but the plug will fit in the receptacle. Does that make sense? I appreciate any assistance... =)
