    1991 CRX won't start
Own a 1991 CRX DX w/ 1.5 dual point fuel injection. Went to start car last week, stumbled on the first crank and nothing after that. Engine cranks but no spark. Having replaced dist w/ a junkyard unit 13 months ago, I suspected this one also failed. Replaced w/ reman unit from your favorite parts store.. still no fix. Used starting fluid to see if I would get at least an attempt to fire... no help. Absolutely no fire. Get initial click from main relay, 2 sec fuel pump activation with additional click upon shutoff and cel goes out. Get hello blink from ECU and have 5 volts at MAP sensor also no error codes in ECU. I'm scratching my head on this one...

    1. Check all under-hood and under-dash fuses with a test light or multimeter.
    2. Disconnect tachometer wire, if you have one.
    3. Check ignition switch.
    4. Check interlock system.

It sounds like you know what you are doing. Therefore, start testing for voltage at key junctures. You will likely be able to narrow your focus by doing this.

Thanks for all your good information... After working through all your great suggestions I felt that my initial thinking may be right... Returned my ISO 9000 lifetime warranty part to your favorite parts store and requested a replacement. Installed distributor tonight and lo and behold the dragon breathes fire once again. Thanks to txgreasemonkey for all your input... integrity first... service before self... excellence in all we do... Go Air Force

Yes, my wife and I served in the Air Force and appreciate the values, skills, and sacrifices made by our brothers and sisters in uniform. Once an Airman, always and Airman--it changes you forever.
