Would you let your teen have sex at age 16

No way. I'm not a parent yet and I am not going to be soon, but I would never, ever let my child have sex at the age of 16. It is very difficult to be pregnant at 16. I guess protected sex is fine, but I still wouldn't let my child have any kind of sex at 16. You never know if the protection will fail.

A parent doesn't "let" their child have sex. Usually it happens without the parents knowledge.

But sex is NOT recreation. Its something to be shared between people in a long term committed relationship.

And NO ONE should be engaging in sexual intercourse unless they are financially, emotionally and physically ready to have a child. No form of birth control is 100% effective sp sexual intercourse involves a risk of pregnancy.

I would not allow it, not sure I could stop them, but I hope they would understand the risks, the costs and the dangers.

Also depending on where you live it may be illegal to have sex at that age.

That would depend on which country you live in. No parent gives permission for their child to have sex, its not like giving permission for their kids to get married. But if the children do it without parental knowledge, they should use contraceptives so they won't get pregnant. If I were the parent, I would discuss with my child about this topic and explain to them the dangers first.

I AM a teenager and I did ever do sex at all .It"s true that your natural love to sex at that age MAKES you feel obsessed but no one knows how it can be the results... Just think you are a dad and you are almost 16.And I agree that place where we live depends to our choices and reactions against these things .
