My boyfriend was on probation for false Sex Offender charges. A couple days ago he violated his probation. Just a simple beer. They arrested him, and now he is in jail.
What sentencing might he get? Being that its only for alcohol I wouldn't think it would be too bad, but I don't know the laws. And I'm curious how long he might be in there for.

First foget the "false" if he was convicted or did a plea bargain, it is not a Sex Crime he was convicted of. So he will be a Sex Offender the rest of his life.

And violation is violation, and a lot will depend on the attitude of the judge. Some look for reasons to send sex offenders to jail.

First he will be in there till a hearing, this could be a couple weeks, to 6 weeks or so. Then the judge can send him to jail for a while, or put him back on probation.

He could get 6 months in jail. I read in the paper here (Ohio) that a Reg Sex Off got 6 months because he did not update his address in the time allotted to him to do so. No excuses.
