How old do you have to be in Spotsylvania, Virginia to babysit other children?
I'm 14 and I'm thinking about babysitting for some families, but I don't know if it's legal in Spotsylvania, Virginia. Does anyone know what the law is?

There isn't a law for babysitting. A lot depends on what your parents allow (how late you can sit, how many kids, how often, how far away, do you know the family) and what families in your area need.

Have you ever taken care of children before? If so, tell us more about that.

I have babysat for family, and I've worked in the daycare at my church. My parents support me with this whole babysitting thing too.

Maybe sit for some of the church families that you know? Put together a nifty flyer or small poster (easy with computers and printers nowadays), highlighting your strengths and experience, and post it at area grocery stores, businesses, etc. (after asking for permission to do so).

Maybe take a red cross class so you know your prepared. They have classes for young adults that wish to babysit. Plus it looks good on your resume.
