Check both the old and the new keyboard, using a different computer with compatible jacks. DO NOT connect or disconnect ANY non-USB device unless the power is OFF and the machine is shut down! If both keyboards work fine on the testing machine, then you probably have a bad mainboard AKA motherboard, OR you may have a corrupted software driver (if you are using one).
Is it doing this? 123456789012345678901234567890 when you hit any key on the keyboard?
If it is, nothing is wrong with your computer or keyboard. The antivirus software you have is doing exactly what you set it up to do and hiding your keystrokes. Go into your avtivirus software and turn off this feature or change the settings.
