    I have some sort of hunderd dollar bill dated march 10, 1863 from the state of Louisiana. I can't find any information in any books. Trying to figurere out exactly what I got

    I believe what you have, is unconstitutional money! Unfortunately, that is what we all use these days, and it is the very reason why a twenty dollar gold piece is worth upwards of $1500. Based on weight alone! Article 1, Section 10, Paragraph 1 of the U.S. Constitution says, "NO STATE ... shall make any thing but gold or silver coin a tender in payment of debt." It may be valuable as a collectors item, but I don't think you can get a bank to exchange it for cash as an official banking transaction.

    Infoguy! Good info - but the op isn't asking if they can exchange it, they just want some info on it! Sheesh!
    Cnhbaby - I found this link for currency issued during the Civil War, do any of these images match what you have?
