I am having a problem coping i get a 2" solid black line down one side of the page.
The printer prints on from the computer, is only when i am coping.

Sounds like there is a problem with the scanner. Try cleaning the scanner glass. But if that doesn't help time for a new printer.

The average lifespan of an inket printer is 3-5 years. That printer is well over 3 years old, so you got your money's worth.
