Can a short period still develop into a healthy pregnancy?
    Hi Girls...
I'm still confused by my 2and 1/2 day period at the beginning of January... I thought it might have been implantation bleeding, but now I think it may have been just wishful thinking and a weird period. But my question is: can that strange short 'different' period still continue into a healthy pregnancy? My husband and I have just begun trying again, after a m/c in oct 2004, and so have been wortking out my fertile times, ovulation etc... but would this period alter all that, as usually I have my period for 5 or 6 days..
Any ideas? Thanks for reading this... xox

It could have just been a short period. Our bodies are always in a state of changing(tho most of the time its not noticeable to us), and sometimes it throws us throw a loop by giving us a surprise here and there. When is your next period due?

Ok. Well, personally, I would go get a pregnancy blood test done at the end of this week, just so that I could know once and for all, and stop wondering one way or the other. Or you could just wait until your next expected period. And its never a bad idea to have a visit with your ob/gyn.

Thanks buggage! Although, I think I am probably not pregnant... :( unless it is taking more than 6 weeks after my LMP (my normal one, that is!) to show on a HPT. I went to my Obgyn last week, and she said it could be too early to tell... and to relax and stop worrying about it all so much! Which isn't a bad idea... but waiting is so hard! Do you know if a short period would actually affect how 'healthy' the following ovulation is? If I usually have 5 or 6 days of bleeding, and only had 2 days this time, does my body have time to do all it needs to do, to be ready to ovulate efficiently?

You know, I'm not real sure about that one. But as far as I know, I think it would be fine. But, I really can't say for sure. J9 could probably answer that better. Your doc is right, it could still be too early. There are some women who's pregnancys never show up on an hpt until they are many months along. I have even heard of some who never show up at all. So, it is possible. But relaxing is the best(and hardest) advice. Stress is one of the biggest factors to messing up the way our bodies work. I know its hard to wait. Good luck!
