Urgent advice please, birth control and spotting am I pregnant?
Hi I wondered if you can help me asap! I am on the pill and haven't missed a day for months but don't always take it at the same time everyday I am not due to finish my pill till end of the month but about 5 days ago I had light spotting of blood that wasn't enough to use a tampon just when I wiped and lasted 2 days! Does spotting mean I have a higher chance of pregnancy? Me and my partner have unprotected sex and we have a son already?

    Thank you

Since you don't take it at the same time every day it very could be what is called "break through" bleeding. It also increases your chance of pregnancy as the pill is designed to be taken at the same time every day.

The only thing you can do now is wait to see if your period actually comes when it is supposed to. If not, test, but be sure to use first morning urine.

I am going to wait till the end of the month, but shall I continue to take the pill as the lesaflet yes if you think you might be pregnant to stop? Does break through bleeding a sign that I could be pregnant? I would be over the moon if we were expecting again even if it wasn't planned
Thank you for your advice much appreciated

Breakthrough bleeding is NOT a sign that you are pregnant, and the pill is safe to take for now. Since there is a possibility that you might be expecting, go to your local store and purchase an over-the-counter prenatal vitamin and begin taking it if you are not already.

Remember to use first morning urine when testing. ;)
