My baby is being denied by his father
I have an eight month old son and his father denied him since I was preganant. We had misunderstanding which turned out awful to the extent that emotional and physically abuse me while I was preganant. He put me in shame and insulted me. A friend of mine once told me to ask for child support. My friend told me its unfair that he supports his girlfriends children but not his own son. Made me realize what if my son grew up and asked me why I did not fight for his right. I want the best for my son and I want him to be acknowledge by his father. Can I file a case or ask for support? He is now an OFW and working in Middle East.

Where are you located? Where was the child born?

We are from the Philppines and my son was born there too. I hope you are familiar with our law because I don't know anyone who can help me so I search online and found this site. Im here right now in Micronesia and I don't have much access back home. Thanks

First, when posting a follow-up question or info, please use the Answer options at the bottom of the page rather than the Comments.

You will need to contact an attorney. You need to file for child support under the laws where you are a legal resident. The general process is they will require a DNA test to establish paternity. Once this is done, then a support order will be issued.

But if he is not under the jurisdiction of the courts, it may be difficult to get a DNA sample. Since this issue spans multiple countries, you really NEED an attorney to help navigate the various laws.
