    Track lighting problems... Need help.!
Ok. First lets start with I recently bought this house and know very little about electricity although I'm will to be taught. I have three- four light sets and only half of them work. They are on a dimmer knob and is using 60 watt lights. I switched each light out with cfl dimming 60 watt lightbulbs with no success. I used a volt meter and I am not getting power to some of the fixtures. If anyone has any ideas where to start, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you!

Since we do not know how the house is wired, we are at a bit of a disadvantage. However, pull the faceplates and then the switches from the wall. Test continuity through the switch in the on position, 120VAC. If there are 3 way switches, 3 wires plus a ground, you need to make sure they are wired properly and that depends on how the power sources enter the boxes or light. Look for loose or disconnected wires in the switch and ceiling boxes and at the lights. It's like a detective case, look for clues here and there until you figure it out. Do be careful, you can get a serious shock from 120V(assuming you are in USA).
