I've been on trial in Texas for an alleged theft of less then $ 1,500 for 2 years now. My case has been handed to SEVERAL prosecutors within the DA's office. None of which want to risk their reputation of losing the case. I've had 6 prosecutors bow down and take a back seat. I have a public defender ON TAPE stating the politics of this case are the hold up. He's also stated he's not willing to go in there and act like a lawyer who's getting paid to defend me. His exact words were, "If your looking for a vigorous defense you need to hire your own atty" *** is all that about? Who's going to stop this madness? Do we the people just lie down and take this? Things will never change. Texas is above the law!!

Hello Texas:

Sounds like he's done pretty well so far.. You can fire him and have another lawyer appointed, but after a year and a half and having gone through as many prosecutors as you say, it's gong to be HARD for you to argue to the judge that your lawyer isn't defending you...

So, I don't know what to tell you. I believe what you say about Texas. They ARE above the law.

It's a damn shame Texas is allowed to get away with so much. This whole "drag it out" strategy has been mine since the get go. All he's done is come to me with a plea deal, in which I'm not interested.
