    I was arrested for fraud
I was charged for fraud, however I was never convicted, nor did I make a plea. I didn't go to court and the charges were dropped. Can this prevent me from getting a job as a Registered nurse in a hospital? I am licensed by the state of Florida but I am scared to apply??

If the charges were dropped, I don't think there is a problem, all you can do is apply.

It will not show up in police background checks.

Does the application ask if you've ever been arrested/charged OR if you've ever been convicted? I am seeing the first version on more and more employment applications.

And that is just wrong. Courts, in general, and juries in particular, are specifically not allowed to make the assumption that " the cops arrested him, therefore he must have done something."

If an employment application asks "have you ever been arrested for or charged with a crime?", one might consider avoiding the question by truthfully answering "I have never been convicted of any crime other than [enumerated and explained; hopefully nothing but minor traffic offenses].

Or, to answer the question completely, one could say "I was arrested for ___. I was completely innocent and the charges were dismissed (or whatever).

I don't disagree with you - and in the back of my mind (right next to the "never lie" button) I wonder if it won't show up anyway, should the applicant list the accusation?
