    Back child support California law?
My wife's ex on;y paid 8 months of child support, that was eleven years ago. He quit his job soon after the divorce, and has not worked since. Now he owns his mother's summer cabin free and clear. He owes my Wife $130,000.00 in arrears. Her Daughter is now 20. How should we proceed?

    Thanks

Contact the child support agency who is handling the case; ask what they've done - suspended his license, filed a lien against his home, etc.

Why did your wife not file for contempt of court for failure to pay child support in the past eleven years?

When was the last time she went to court for contempt against him ? What was her last contact with child support enforcement ?

Why has he not went back and asked for the amount to be lowered to fit his income.

If he was asking, I would tell him to file to admend owed support due to income.

To you, I would say hire an attorney, take him back to court and ask for him to be held in contempt, perhaps put in jail, and a lien put on his property.

Often the lien does not allow you to take the property, but only get the money if and when they sell it latter.
