Are gain/losses ordinary or extraordinary?

Extraordinary, as they are from one-time or non-recurring events or activities which are outside of the core business of the firm.

Thank you just looking that was my understanding however In reading and reviewing a Powerpoint presentation from a text book publisher one line indicated the gains/losses are no longer considered extradinary which to me would have meant they were either no longer considered unusual in nature or infrequent in occurrence! I think the Publisher if Full of Crap! On the same Powerpoint presentation I have found at least five if not six other errors! The publisher is terrible on the providing accurate supplements for this chapter at a minimum although I have found multiple other errors in this $280 text!
