I have dated one of the most amazing girls since January but we had to break up due to me about to go to college in the next town to us and she about to be a senior in high school we knew we would not have time for each other so we decided to stay friends though it tore us up.but even after we were still just as close as friends like we were before we dated, but the last few days she had been acting odd towards me she was depressed cause she never has been able to keep a relationship long cause her family did not like them or they treated her like crap (I have been the only one her family has really liked)and she felt that everything was keeping me and her apart so she said that after me she was done with dating anyone for a long time.. last week she was trying to get me stop being friends with her cause she felt like she did not deserve friends (she has a low self esteem) of course she did not really give the reasons she wanted me to stop being friends but I found out from one of our best friends that she has been secretly dating an ex of hers that only lasted a week when they first dated and it ended ugly because this guy breaks his promises to her by smoking pot and stuff behind her bk... I keep getting reassured that they won't last long... she seemed to have brighten bk up since last week and we are talking again but I'm really confused and why she is keeping it a secret and why she felt like she did not deserve me as a friend..

Time to go no contact and forget about the friendship-sorry,but her dating the ex may well be one of the reasons you're broken up.

Sorry buddy, all the reasons she's giving you are just excuses. Actions speak louder than words. Her actions are showing that she no longer cares about you like before. By telling you to stay away and wanting to get back with her ex. These actions will surely push you away slowly.

I suggest you leave her alone to sort out her mess. And you focus on moving on with your life.

Look at it this way, you had your chance to make things right together, but it didn't work. But at least you had that chance.

Thanks for replies everything is good now she has gotten out of the mood she was in and is happy right now.. she has had depression most of her life which causes her to be indecisive and not knowing what she really wants she gets into these moods when she thinks she is doing something wrong and feels bad about it and she goes all hard on herself but saying she is a terrible person and for her closest friends and myself to stop being friends with her cause she did not deserve us but of course we don't cause we care about her.. even now she asks why I put up with her crap and I say because I really care and love her.. but it was not her breaking up with me we knew it was going to happen when college came around so we both decided to break it off I'm guessing she feels bad about keeping it a secret cause she did not want me to get hurt finding out,but I didn't when I found out cause to be honest I'm not going to tell her what she can or can't do dating wise I'm just being patient with h know she would do the same if I were in her situation er and being supportive of her and being there for her when she needs someone I'm guessing this is one of those really rare situations where a person can have just as a strong of a friendship with their ex as they were a couple lol... thx and sorry for the long type
