My Glacier Bay single handle shower water control balancing spool does not do its job. Can it be taken apart and cleaned? Should the piston slide freely? Should it rotate? Do I need a special tool to remove it from the body? Or throw it out and get a new one?

Glacier Bay is a Home Depot trade name. I can find no information on the company that manufactures them so I have no technical details to go on. Sorry, Tom

Throw it out and buy a new one -- The balancing spool has no adjustment.
