hello everyone,
My GFCI continues to trip. I replaced it, same problem.I rewired with 12-2 for 20A breaker and GFCI. Itcan take over a day to rese without anything pluged in. Only one other receptacle is on this line. What I don't understand is that that load is 14-2 with 15A receptacle.(I did not wire that) I tried to isolate bot the pond pump plugged outside and the alarm system. Alarm only= trip, pond only= no trip. I also plugged the alarm by extension to a basement recpticle= no trip at the breaker. I was thinking that the pond pump might have a short but it has not tripped in 25 hours, the wire leading to the pump has not been rewired nor has the breaker been replaced. I was thinking of replacing the GFCI with a 20A receptacle and or disconnecting the load after the GFCI.all worked fine before the storm. I thought also that the Alarm may have shorted but it has not tripped the panel breaker as it had the GFCI.
Any Ideas?
Thanks----Don
