Take the dog to the vet asap. You never know what condition the bones is in and it can be splintered or sharp.

One of the other dog experts has also said numerous times. Give your dog bread to eat right away to help cushion it. You still need to take him to the vet. Lots can happen to their insides due to bones.

If I got that advice from a vet's office the first thing I'd do is call another vet. This is far too dicey to expect the stomach acid to dissolve a bone.

Yes, first step is feed cotton balls soaked in chicken stock or if the dog won't take those then bread.

Dogs can digest bone, the problem lies when they are cooked. The dog crunches them and they splinter, causing sharp edges which can perforate internal organs.

The cotton or bread can help cushion those sharp edges.

If you notice ANYTHING different about the dog then it's off to the vet.
