I don't know if I should tell the truth or just say am unable to?

I believe in telling the truth - you don't owe anyone an explanation when it comes to personal choices... unless they are supporting you. If you are an independent adult, the choice is yours.

I don't know why you would discuss this with family - unless they ask, of course - but I think I would say you have decided not to have children. No more than that, no less than that.

JudyKay Tee is right, you should be honest with them. I'm not discriminating, but this is a pretty big decision, so you should think about it if you haven't already, even talk to your close family members if you have some. It's your choice, but being responsible is very important: If you don't want them, you should make sure they are in good hands and properly cared for.

Are you saying you don't want to have children or don't want the children you have?
