I have a Kenmore 70 series that just keeps filling. If I turn the timer to spin it will spin and drain and the timer will move. Is there a sensor that tells how much water is in the tub that could be bad?

There is a diaphragm pressure switch that controls the water level. It may be bad or the line may be disconnected or broken. Pull the washer out, remove the back panel and you should see a plastic tube connected to the switch. In some models you need to pull the inside drum and in others it is accessible without pulling the drum.
Do it keep filling up even when the washer is unplugged (no power going to it)? If so it's a bad water inlet valve. This is what the part looks like http://www.partsdr.com/Parts/Water-Inlet-Valve-143.cfm
Thanks. It appears that the line was disconnected. I slipped it back on and now seems to be working.
Glad to hear. If my answer helped, please click on the "green thumb". Thanks, Brian
