Hello. I am currently 6 weeks pregnant after IVF and have had HCG levels that my RE is not happy with. I had another level taken 2 days ago and it was 5900 then it was 6900 today. Today we saw the heartbeat at 123bpm on ultrasound. I just want to know what the chances of me having a normal pregnancy are?

Congratulations on your pregnancy. As you may know, there is no way we can predict a normal pregnancy for anyone whether it be IVF or natural conception.

Every woman is different and every pregnancy is different.

You are very lucky you were able to see the heartbeat at 6 weeks, and 123 bpm sounds very reassuring.

I just am feeling hopeless since my RE thinks that this is not a normal pregnancy. He is not reassured by my betas, despite the heartbeat. On the one hand, I am excited and on the other hand, I am waiting to miscarry (as he expects I will) or waiting for an absent heartbeat followed by a D&C. This has been an emotional roller coaster. I know that no one can say whether a pregnancy will be normal, but was just looking for some reassurance :) thank you
