    Hot water
About two weeks ago when taking a shower there was very little hot water. I had the hot water turned all the way up and also the water heater was turned all the way up but there was only luke warm water that lasted maybe 4 minutes. This has been a gradual loss of hot water for about 6 months now. We just replaced our water heater (with a brand new one) the correct connections were made, and after allowing the water heater to heat up we turned on the hot water inside and only cold water came out after letting it run for over 5 minutes. Do you have any idea what would be wrong?

The heater is gas. When I turn the hot water inside only cold water comes out. I go and feel water heater where the hot comes from and goes into the house and the tube is very hot but only cold water comes out inside.

Sounds like someone at the manufacturing plant forgot to install the dip tube in your tank.

It's rare, but it does happen.
