    How do you save a very weak puppy
    I have a puppy that is 4 days old it has been on milk replacement powder for two days now we had a friend who had a dog producing milkwe put him on for 2 days but the dog could not handle the extra puppy and the puppy is now very weak what can I do to try and save it

    The wet nurse was a good idea. Since it didn't work, do what you can with the milk replacer and a bottle.

    Don't forget, new borns depend on their mother licking them for the stimulation they need to eliminate.

    If you haven't already I would take the puppy to the vet. And you might want to try feeding it very thick milk. But you should definitely take it to the vet if you haven't done so...

    I hope you didn't mean cows' milk. That is a bad idea, it contains lactose dogs can't digest and causes digestive upsets a 4 day old can't tolerate.

    Dumb question - Where is the original mother and why is she not nursing him ?

    And I don't know what to suggest if he can't suckle a puppy bottle... using an eyedropped is tough because aspiration (breathing in the fluid) is a problem
