    Suing for return of deposit
What's the statue of limitation to file a lawsuit against a landlord who refuses to return your deposit. I've been trying for nearly two years to get my deposit returned but to no avail

Please start a new thread. No one wants to read two pages of old and probably irrelevant information.

Start a new thread and someone will help you.

And we have no way of telling what a SOL is unless you give us your state.

Yes. I asked him that in the other thread, but he must have overlooked it.

Didn't realize this was a fill in the blanks, "how good can you research" question.

    Good catch, though.

I've moved your question to it's own thread.

As AK said laws vary so we need to know your general locale.

What have you done? Why have you waited so long? Why is the landlord withholding it?

The SOL is 4 years from when the deposit should have been returned, if the agreement is oral; 6 years if it's written.
