I have a pre-trial with asset acceptance tomorrow. The debt is mine but I cannot pay for it. I am trying to file bankruptcy but I do not have enough money to pay a lawyer right now. What is going to happen tomorrow? I noticed that there is no Schedule A attached to the summons so I am going to request it so I can get proof that this is mine and they own the debt. It is confusing because there is another company coming after me for the same debt. I have tried to call them to settle but they want too much money and I do not have it.

What will eventually happen? If they ca prove the debt and it's within the statute they will get a Judgment against you and enforce it according to the laws of your State.

On the other hand if you are sincere about the Bankruptcy, have spoken to an Attorney, they will put collection on hold (in some cases) pending your filing.
