I received a notice from the irs that they are going to levy my bank account. The account in question has been closed. Can anyone tell me what will happen next??

They can easily find any account you have. Don't be fooled by it taking a while, since they are dealing with millions of taxpayers. Interest and penalties are huge. Your best bet is to face the music and go talk to them about an arranged payment plan, and plead and grovel to see if you can get the penalties removed and the interest lowered. There are companies that will do this for you, tax reduction. They wangle the negotiations and arrange a monthly payment to them directly. They take the first X months as their fee.

If you pay for your truck and mortgage out of a checking account expect that account to be seized.
