I would say tell him how you feel, be more 'touchy feely' with each other. A simple hug goodbye, etc. Just say your feelings, he might not even know.

Make him realise what he has ;). Telling him about other people that does not have what you have or just holding a bit bad. Anything tastes better if you hungry.
