The drive belt this model calls for did not fit.By the time I mounted it to the trany and engine it was way too tight to get around the other pullys.I got another one but this time I went with the lengh. It fit well and had good tention, however,it dident fix my problem. The belt is still slaping againts the pully sounding loud and I'm sure damaging the belt.I am at a stand still here,I do not know what to try.All pullys work well. There two spring atached to the clutch/brake paddle, they are pretty heavy gage and as far as I can tell they look good.I wonder what I could look for on these springs to determen if they are good or bad. This unit is one of the yallow poulan pros, model # 960420107/pb195h42lt.If anyone has any ideas please reply.

I'm still going with problem on idler pulleys, even though they spin they could still be bad.check # 186 on pulley bracket make sure its not wore out and causing them to go sideways . If these are plastic pulleys check and make sure there's not a flat spot on one them .
Check youe engine pulley make sure it doesn't have a bend in it .

    DG,how u doing man.

I took your advice. This morning I went out, droped the deck, took a closer look at the pullys, and sure enough the track on the pully was wore down, there was a hole about 1" long.$12.00 got me a new pully and I'm all set.T/Y.
