My next door neighbour has been put on bail as he was caught up in a fight with someone who lived around the corner. A part of his bail conditions is that he cannot go home to sleep. (he lives with his parents next door to us) - so he has been sleeping on our sofa... he supposidly is able to go to his house next door during the day, but just cannot sleep there, so he has been sleeping at ours... now, to me, this seems a bit silly and not sure if this is/could be an actual bail condition, or if he is just using this as an excuse... not sure why though? - I would be grateful if someone could advise me a little on this. Can the police put a bail condition on you stating that you cannot go to your home address, especially as he would have had no where else to go, or would he have had to give the police an alternate address if he wasn't allowed to stay at his? Thank you in advance.

Pure bull, probation has conditions, bail is jut that, money paid to allow you out till court.

Tell him that you are going to have the police stop by tonight and clear this up, bet they change their story

In the U.S. the police don't impose bail conditions, a judge does.

But yes, a judge could impose such a condition. Whether it was done is another story. You could contact the court and find out if this is so.

The judge COULD impose such restrictions, but to say it's OK during the day, but NOT at night, is a ridiculous condition.

Be that as it may, I sense that your question is more along the lines of, "how do I get rid of this guy?". It isn't going to be easier if you find the conditions to be as he SAYS they are.

You CAN find the file in the courthouse. It WILL say what the conditions are. You can do this WITHOUT him finding out, if that's a concern.

True. But ultimately, if push comes to shove, to get rid of him you need to evict him, as you would any other unwelcome houseguest.
