I am an elementary Art teacher and I am 22 weeks pregnant. I work in 6 different elementary schools and there have been several outbreaks of 5th's disease in all my schools. I am very nervous about being around these children and I am experiencing high anxiety. Since I teach Art it is very hands on and I work very closely with these students. I lost a baby last year and I am so worried about contracting 5th's disease as I had my titer drawn and found out I am not immune. I would really rather stop working at this point to lower my risk of exposure. With only 10 days left in the school year I feel as if I should stop working now. I am having such high stress about it and I am really concerned. I want to get a Dr. not but my OB /GYN said they would not write a note because of 5th's disease. I don't know what to do?
