Are there any other possible causes for cervacitis other than an s.t.d. Me and my husband have been married for over 2 years. I developed a rash in my vaginal area, went to the gyno and she told me I have a yellowish discharge which is mostly seen in women with chlamydia, but she won't know until the results are back. So she said I'm treating you for cervacitis. If we do have chlamydia what is the gestation period for that? And if its cervacitis what else other than an std can cause that? Please help I'm freakin out!!

There are several causes for cervicitis aside from STDs. HPV being one that is not always considered an STD as most people think.

Other causes can be injury or irritation (a reaction to the chemicals in douches and contraceptives or a forgotten tampon) also can cause the disease. The objects may simply cause irritation and make the cervix more susceptible to infection.
