I am trying to figure out the name of this movie or if it actually exists !

It is set in africa, and the is a massive bird (a falcon bird I think), the bird is dying at the top af a cliff, and then you young child comes and pats it, then eventually the bird stands and flys away with the child on him.

That is all I can remember of it, but it probably is a dream.. :) xx

Was it animated? If so, it might be the Rescuers Down Under - here's a clip from where the boy is helping the bird, and ends up riding on its back...
