    The formula is incorrect. I think what you meant is this:



    If you're trying to prove the identity, the best approach is to change the cot(x), tan(x), csc(x) and sec(x) functions into their sin(x) and cos(x) equivalents. Then simple algebra manipulations to get it so that both sides of the equation are the same.
