How can I track down a tennent that left owing rent and left all old furniture and junk and completely ruined the carpets and base board ,floorbaord wood from cats that they were not suppose to have? They completely trashed the apartment before they left. We can not get rid of the cat odor. They broke doors, they even managed to break the new hardwood floor that was installed before they moved in. no we didn't get security deposit either. Thought we could trust the people. We need to find a new address for them to take them to small claims court and so far haven't been able too. Any ideas?

Ok, so you didn't get a deposit. I also assume you didn't get references or do a background check, employer info or any of the standard things a smart landlord does to protect themselves.

You can hire a private detective to try and find them. But the odds are if they ripped you off they don't have assets you will be able to grab. You can throw good money after bad and try to find them, but I'd recommend cutting your losses. And learn a lesson about being a landlord.
